A week ago today we welcomed our second daughter into the world, four days early, on February 13, 2012 at 11:11 AM. She weighed 7 lbs 3 oz and was 20 inches long, not too much different than her sister who arrived at 10:27 AM, weighed 7 lbs 14 oz and 20 1/2 inches long.
I woke up around 1:00 AM to, what else? go pee, and as I was lying in bed trying to go back to sleep I noticed the contractions. They were nothing too painful, but came with a little more pressure than the regular Braxton Hicks contractions I was used to feeling. I also started to notice that they were coming at fairly regular intervals and were lasting at least 45 seconds to a minute/minute and a half long. I waited and counted and watched the clock for about an hour before I woke Matt up and told him what was going on. “Well let’s go!” was his reply. He called his mom to come over and stay with Kendal while I took a shower, shaved my legs, and finished packing all of the last minute things in my hospital bag.
We got to the hospital about 3:00 AM. They hooked me up and checked my cervix which was only a centimeter and a half dilated and about 50% effaced. I was sure that we were going to be sent home and I was not going to be happy about it. However, after an hour of more contractions which were happening anywhere from 3 to 6 minute apart, the nurse checked me again. I had made little progress – about a 1/2 centimeter more dilated – but it was still progress. The nurse called the doctor to see what he wanted to do, and, much to my surprise, they officially admitted us. One way or another we were going to have a baby!
It was about 7 AM when my doctor came in and broke my water to induce labor. They also started me on Pitocin to help expedite things, which again, worked like a charm! I didn’t think twice about getting an epidural again either, although this time my bottom half wasn’t completely numb, and I could still feel the pressure of the contractions to know when to push. So when it came to that time, it took just a couple of rounds of pushing and she was delivered.
Big sister was able to come and see us in the delivery room about a 1/2 an hour after her little sister was born and we all celebrated the birthday of Camryn Grace Lehnert.

I am so happy for you! When you are up for company or need a meal let me know I would be more then happy to help out! Congrats again!
